Festival of Young Composers - 2021-22

The Michael Hurd Fund for Young Musicians has now opened its seventh biennial festival of young composers.

Since the first festival in 2009, forty-two composers have brought their music to Petersfield for the Performance and Adjudication Day, and over £2,500 has been distributed in prize money, to support the musical studies of the winners. Compositions have ranged from solo songs and piano music to a capella choral works, and a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Each year the winning entries have been performed again at the Petersfield Musical Festival Youth Concerts.

The festival has an age 14 and under category, so may be of interest to any talented young musicians at your school! Full information packs and entry forms can be found below.
